Dental Implants

Losing teeth can be a painful and embarrassing process. Dentures and false teeth plates can be a real pain and sometimes don?t even match your original teeth. Dental implants are the new alternative to replacing your lost teeth. The procedure is just classified as artificial replacement dentistry though it can also be classified as cosmetic dentistry as well. Dental implants are one of the most strong and durable dental procedures. Tooth loss can happen for a number of reasons including tooth decay, root canal failure, periodontitis, or excessive wear and tear. Those who have lost teeth to any of those reasons tend to feel self-conscious about their smile and how much of their teeth they show when they talk. Loosing teeth can also cause chewing differences which can drastically change your eating habits.

There are many advantages to implant dentistry. The implants are almost impossible to tell apart from other teeth. This is because there is a functional connection between the implant and the bone of the other teeth and your mouth. Dental implants can also be used in addition to other restorative processes for the best outcome. Not everyone will qualify for dental implants. This means that your dentist will recommend to you if they think you would work well or not with implants. Remember that there is no special license, so any dentist could do your implants, but not all of them will. Usually the entire process takes anywhere from three to six weeks to complete over a number of short visits.
