The answer, unfortunately, is yes. Smoking is absolutely going to affect cosmetic dentistry procedures – and any other type of dental procedure. Not only does smoking make it more likely that you may need dental treatment, it makes that treatment harder to provide.

As you probably already know, smoking creates a host of dental health risks and complications, which must be taken into account before performing a cosmetic dentistry procedure.

For example, smokers are at a higher risk for developing gum disease, bone damage, and inflammation of oral tissue, as well as throat and oral cancers.
